<h4><b>Temperatures</b></h4>

<p>A system cannot function well at extreme temperatures. Temperature probes are placed in
each chassis to prevent damage to temperature-sensitive components.</p>

<p>The <b>Temperature</b> <b>Probes</b> window displays information about the following: 

<ul>
  <li>Status of each temperature probe in the system</li>
  <li>Temperature read by the probe at the time of the request</li>
  <li>Minimum and maximum warning threshold values for temperature probes</li>

<h4><b>Status</b></h4>

<p>Temperature probes report temperatures at different locations within a chassis to the
Server Administrator Instrumentation Service. Temperature status is one of the following
states:</p>

<p>Some temperature probe fields differ according to the type of firmware that your system
has: BMC or ESM.&nbsp;</p>
