Slot Information

A slot, or expansion slot, allows components to be attached to a system using
connection pinholes. The slot also provides a place to fit an expansion adapter or card
that provides some specialized capability, such as remote access to a server, storage
device control, or network connectivity.

If you insert a Peripheral Component Interconnect (PCI) card into a hot-plug capable
slot, it displays on your screen after you do a manual refresh of the Slots screen.
