<h4>Platform Events</h4>
<p>The Platform Events interface allows you to take individual action on specific platform
events. You can select those events for which you want to take shutdown actions. You can
select certain actions and ensure that an alert is sent for these actions. You can
also send alerts to IP address destinations of your choice. </p>

initiated by firmware and is done without first shutting down the operating system or any

<h4>Configuring Actions for Platform Events</h4>
<p>You can click each platform event to configure the following types of responses to the platform
event:

<li>Generate Alert</li>
</ul>
<p>You can configure the shutdown action and the alert generation on the <a
href="SetPEF.html">Set Platform Events</a> page.</p>
<h5>Action</h5>
<p>All platform events with the exception of <b>Automatic System Recovery</b> and <b>Hardware
log is full or emptied</b> allow you to select an Action. Automatic System
Recovery (ASR), for example, does not permit an action because actions are
already part of the event definition for ASR. The actions that are enabled for
each platform event appear as checkmarks on the <b>Platform Events</b> page.</p>

<p>When you enable Generate Alert, the <b>Generate Alert</b> column is checked.</p>

<h4>Platform Event Filters Configuration</h4>
<p>The controls below allow you to enable and disable sending platform alerts as a group
-- all at once. If you check the box next to <b>Enable Platform Event Filter</b> <b>alerts</b>,
all <font color="#000000">the alerts you have enabled are </font>sent. If you uncheck the
box next to <b>Enable Platform Event Filter alerts</b>, all <font color="#000000">the
alerts you have enabled are</font> not sent. </p>
